The iconic pop star Sir Elton John isn’t quite done with his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour yet.
The trek, which first kicked-off in 2018 after he announced his retirement, was extended through late 2019. Now, the singer has revealed that he’ll hit seven more shows on the east coast next spring.
On Wednesday, he announced that he’ll make two night stops at New York City’s Madison Square Garden and Barclays Center in early April, followed by gigs at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Then, he’ll wrap-up at NYCB LIVE’s Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York on April 17 and 18.
Along with the announcement, he noted that his decision to retire has nothing to do with his health, but rather the fact that he wants to spend time with his family.
“My priorities have changed in my life,” he said. “My priorities are now my children, my husband, my family. I thought the time was right to say thank you to my fans and goodbye.”
Currently, John is performing across North America and will stop next tomorrow in Vanouver, British Columbia, followed by gigs in cities like Toronto, Indianapolis, Memphis, and Cleveland. The leg will close in Long Island mid-November before picking up again in the spring.
