Casting Complete for Off-Broadway’s ‘BIGFOOT!’

Casting is now complete for “BIGFOOT!”, the new musical comedy by Amber Ruffin, David A. Schmoll, and Kevin Sciretta, which will premiere Off-Broadway next month at New York City Center Stage I.

The production will begin performances on February 11 and officially open March 1. The limited engagement is scheduled to run for eight weeks and is presented in association with Manhattan Theatre Club. Direction and choreography are by Danny Mefford.

Newly announced casting includes Grammy nominee Jason Tam, who will appear as Doctor, and Jade Jones, who joins the production in a featured role. The company also includes covers Jake Letts, Kala Ross, and Mike Millan.

As previously reported, the cast is led by Crystal Lucas-Perry as Francine, Grey Henson as Bigfoot, Katerina McCrimmon as Joanne, and Alex Moffat as Mayor.

“BIGFOOT!” features lyrics by Ruffin, a book by Ruffin and Sciretta, and music by Schmoll. The musical is set in the fictional town of Muddirt, described as a glowing community located between a chemical dump site and a nuclear power plant. According to production notes, the story centers on political corruption, rising paranoia in a small town, and a misunderstood young figure who stands eight feet tall.

The musical has undergone development over the past year. In 2024, it was introduced to audiences during a concert presentation at 54 Below. Additional developmental performances took place later that year at New York Stage and Film.

The creative team includes music supervisor Meg Zervoulis, music director Alejandro Senior, scenic designer Tim Mackabee, lighting designer Mextly Couzin, costume designer Ricky Reynoso, sound designer Sun Hee Kil, and hair, wig, and makeup designers J. Jared Janas and Cassie Williams. Casting is by Jason Thinger.
